Thanks for a great 1st year.  Over 200 kids participated in 2011 from 12 schools.  We had some really fun races especially Short Track.  Racing under the lights at the Dan Russell Arena and out through Sherwood Forest was the most fun and family friendly race.  Granite Bay Reverse was tough but the Prison course was both tough and incredible with some of the best trails in all of Northern California.  The Sierra Nevada High School Racing Series gives opportunities to more kids and more teams to race and enjoy the sport of high school mountain bike racing.  Things that are cool about the new Sierra Nevada race series:

  2. •    Cross Country (XC) racing at Northstar, Granite Bay and Nevada City

  3. •    USA Cycling Rules and Points Just like Collegiate and Pro!

  4. •    High School Team Points Championship

  6. •    Prizes, Awards for Varsity, JV and Frosh Category Leaders

  7. •    Jamborees where all the teams get together to do skill building, riding and games

  8. •    Unique Event Formats

  9. •    Our racers are grouped by skill which makes for more exciting and safer racing
